7. Primary Purpose of the Position
8. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Athletics and Activities Director to oversee all aspects of the school's athletics programs, extracurricular activities, and student engagement initiatives. Additionally, serve as the main representative in the event of the director's absence during school events and championships, both on and off-campus, ensuring continuity and effective management of these programs. This contribution aims to promote the holistic development of students by promoting physical fitness, teamwork, leadership, and a sense of belonging.
9. Principle Duties and Responsibilities
10. Athletics and Activities Program Management:
11. Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive athletics and activities program that aligns with the school's mission and values.
12. Support coaches and instructors in their professional development/training and adherence to safety protocols.
13. Foster a culture of sportsmanship, fair play, and healthy competition among student-athletes.
14. Serve as a site director/Admin in charge during assigned home games, events, and competitions
15. Ensure the tracking of historical records and award winners
16. Manage coach professional development courses and tracking for certification
17. Travel with teams as chaperone or admin in charge as needed
18. Facilitate the selection, onboarding and coordination of new faculty and/or outside coaches
19. Perform other duties as assigned
20. Oversee the planning and execution of extracurricular activities, clubs, and special events that cater to diverse student interests and talents.
21. Collaborate with faculty advisors and student leaders to ensure the success and sustainability of all extracurricular programs.
22. Evaluate the effectiveness of activities and recommend enhancements based on student feedback and evolving interests.
23. Student Engagement and Leadership Development:
24. Promote student involvement and leadership opportunities within athletics, activities, and service initiatives.
25. Implement strategies to enhance school spirit, pride, and community cohesion through organized events and initiatives.
26. Provide guidance and mentorship to student leaders, empowering them to make positive contributions to school life.
27. Community Relations and Communications:
28. Cultivate positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff, and external partners to support the goals of the athletics and activities programs.
29. Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding program updates, event schedules, and opportunities for involvement.
30. Collaborate with the Communications Office to highlight student achievements and showcase the impact of athletics and activities on the school community.
31. Certifications and Education
32. Bachelor's degree in education, sports management, recreation, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
33. Experience
34. experience in athletics and/or activities administration or program coordination, preferably in an educational setting.
35. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
36. Fluency in English and Portuguese
